Petition To Save The Tony Danza Show
Due to recent reports that our favorite daytime talk show might be canceled, we decided to take matters into our own hands. Best Week Ever has created a Save Tony Danza petition in the hopes that we can show those network execs how many people are really tuning in.
Please do your part and sign, sign, sign!
Dear ABC Network Executives, For the past year, The Tony Danza Show has proven to be one of the most thought-provoking and original series on television. As an actor, we've seen Tony portray tough Brooklynites named Tony with effortless ease. But nothing compares to his natural talent as a talk show host. He can command a room filled with old ladies just by saying "hey-oh." He has shown the world how to make pizza, how to ride a go-cart and how to play Plinko. Every morning between 10 and 11 AM Eastern Standard Time, Mr. Danza shares a nugget of truth when he talks about what it was really like on the set of Who's The Boss. As an ensemble member of this year's award winning movie Crash, Tony also regularly shares with his audience his mastery of the craft. (Yes, one scene still makes him a member of the ensemble). When it comes to celebrity guests, Tony sure gets his share of A-listers. Whether he's interviewing such luminaries as Judith Light or a talking parrot, his questions are always hard-hitting. And his on-screen chemistry with regular guest Liza Minnelli is nothing less than smoldering. And you can't tell me that last week's special episode, where Tony turned the set into cabaret club and sang old standards, didn't rate. So why is Tony Danza's show being canceled? Because it breaks all the rules. The show's edgy, irreverence when it comes to Italian cooking may have offended some viewers, but it also got people thinking. Isn't that what a great show is supposed to do? I ask you network bigwigs to trust the people and keep Tony Danza on the air. In this time of flood, war and famine, we need a strong daytime talk show leader now more than ever. Do it for the children. Do it for the children's grandma's. Do it for yourself. Sincerely, Best Week Ever |

Tony Danza is the only true person on television. He tells it like it is. Who can ask for anything better? Not me.

I grew up on Tony Danza. He was a hero to me, a cool guy like Fonzie was to my parents. His show has inspired and entertained so many people. Besides, he's so refreshing compared to those obnoxious women on The View! Keep the Tony coming!

PLEASE SAVE THE TONY DANZA SHOW! HE'S PERFECT AS A FOLLOW UP TO REGIS AND AN INTRO TO THE VIEW. PLUS HE'S SUCH AN UP GUY AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE A GROUP OF NEW YORK SHOWS ON. HE COVERS ALL THE BASES, DOES IT IN STYLE AND IRREVERENCE... AND HE'S CUTE AND KNOWS LOADS OF CELEBS AND IS A GOOD SONG AND DANCE MAN TOO!
KEEP TONY DANZA SHOW ON THE AIR!!!

Give Tony Danza a chance. He is better than some of the other junk on daytime TV and no sensationalism, just good ole fashioned entertainment. Even my husband watches him and the only stuff he watches is on ESPN!!!
Posted by: Gloria Alvarez | Feb 17, 2006 7:55:10 PM
please don't cancel tony, he is so light
and real. We have enough stress and bad news, this is a show i could watch with my
2 year old granddaughter.

Why is it that the good shows get cancelled? Why is it that the down to earth every day life kind of show like Tony's gets cancelled? Is there not enough sensationalism or breasts or juicy gossip written into this show? It's so refreshing and fun and non-memorized! For gosh sakes come to your senses ABC!!!!!!

I like Tony Danza, I also liked him in Who's the Boss, however I think his talk show is lack luster. It should be canceled.
