how about a fucking cell phone

So you want to name the phenonemon "cell phone"? That's really clever!
Posted by: cheeky | Feb 16, 2006 4:28:10 PM
Typos are clever too.

We should call it a "cochrane" in honor of andy's brillant suggestion.

i'm not quite sure what happened here... but i wrote the "bluetool" comment, not the "fucking cell phone" comment... is there a way someone was able to hack the comments on this site, or is that just a glitch?

oh i'm an idiot- its the way comments are displayed here- it looks like your comment is the one below, not the one above due to the position of the separator (maybe want to rethink that formatting b.w.e...)

Schizophonia already is a winner of a word. It's been around at least 39 years, and means something else.

Here's a New York Times article from 2000 about the phenomenon:

And, someone has already used the term, along with "cellchotic" and "celliloquists" to describe people who blabber on their cell phones:

Sorry for being no fun.

No fun at all! As with most things like this, people of course have thought of them before. However, we can always co-opt and popularize the word schizophonic!

Damn - I really thought I made up a new word! still, it's a new use for an existing word.

It's also the title (sort of) of Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell's first solo album.
