IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Jeremy Piven's Journey of a Lifetime
Last night I was lucky enough to catch Jeremy Piven's Journey of a Lifetime on The Travel Channel. The new series follows the Entourage star in his travels through different regions of India and boy was it inspirational.
Piven leaves all his material possessions from Hollywood behind, (except his new hair, his Penguin shirts and his Barney's pashmina scarf) and journeys (oh and his cell and his blackberry) and journeys to the sacred region of East Asia.
In last night's episode, Jeremy shows he can live without LA's creature comforts when he roughs it in Bombay. After a private yoga lesson on the grounds of a five star hotel ("this is how yoga should be done") he floats down a river on a boat equipped with a four poster bed and a paddle boy, and ruminates shirtless, about being the Jewish Dave Chapelle.
Piven's spiritual journey continues after the jump...
Though he can't speak the languages of the region, he communicates by repeating the word Namaste (oft used in Yogazone classes in Santa Monica) and even shares a laugh with a Hindi-speaking man when he pretends he's talking about American sports. We're sure the gentleman understood Piven's wacky humor, in fact, it's amazing how calm the people of India were in the face of a major star like Jeremy Piven. They must have wanted to get his autograph, but understood to leave him be and let him walk the path to spiritual righteousness alone (or with his camera crew).
We're so glad Jeremy is sharing his adventure and teaching us unenlightened folks about inner-peace. We're even happier to see footage of the show's premiere party in West Hollywood featuring belly dancers, fruity Mai-Tais and other enlightened folks like E's Giuliana DePandi!
Namaste.

I, too, saw this. While some may try to discredit it as self-indulgent Hollywood pseudo-spiritualism, I think it shows just how real JPiv keeps it.
Jeremy's Entourage character is no joke. He's just extending the "Let's Hug it Out, Bitch" credo to the dirty, dirty Far East.

Exodux 20:3 You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him. I pray for you, that you find Jesus Christ. The whole show I could only pray for you. You have such a big heart and you could really see it when you were with the children. You would have so much to offer if you had Christ especially since you are Jewish. You are God's chosen people..........let Him in and you won't have to search out the void in your heart. He will fill everything in your life to overflowing capacity.

I loved the show! It made me want to leave it all behind and find the peace Jeremy expereienced! I happened to stumble upon this site, and was appalled to find Val's comment. Can't you Christians just mind your own business? Is it so hard for you to understand that not everyone on the face of this planet believes in your god? Please LEAVE US ALONE!!! Enough is enough!

How can I get the Travel Channel to pay for my "spiritual" trip to India?
Does he use the shavings from his chest to make his toupees?
I really try to like him, but just cant. I am a nice single Jewish girl from the North Shore, so it should be love.

We saw your journey through India, Jeremy, and it actually inspired me. We've been connected to The Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math
(look them up on the internet) since 1983, and it's been a blessing to be connected to such exalted beings. Stay on your search and devote your life to God and stay in the movies and make people laugh. What a great service. If you ever come to Maui, look us up. We're artists, but real ones. And, since I was a nice Jewish girl, from a liberal family, we can relate. Good luck on your spiritual journey.

Jeremy Piven is the accidental goofball here. It's like his journey to India was for snarky laughs, but someone forgot to tell Jeremy that *he* was the joke. He played it perfectly. An entire group of us (Hasids) laughed at him and his *spiritual* journey. We laughed almost the whole time. He is one funny guy when he tries to be serious. Here's a clue for you, Jeremy: You are not enlightened--you're a D list fakir suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. Now, that's funny!!!

Hey I saw your thing, Jeremy, and I was really inspired! It was like, oh my god, Jeremy totally gets what India is all about! That is SO cool! And that hat you wore, the black one with the red star, I have totally seen that being worn in W Hollywood and I was like Oh wow! Jeremy is giving the Indians a taste of Hollywood couture, which is like totally cool! Dont let anyone bring you down, Jeremy, cuz you are a MAJOR star, and even though I dont have HBO so I cant watch your show, I loved you in that Ferris Bueller's High School Reunion movie you did with John Cusack. That was SO funny! The way you ended up dancing with that hottie who wouldnt even pay any attention to you--OMG, I totally dissed a guy like that once and he ended up getting me too. It was like, not the grossest bathroom BJ I've ever done, but I was pretty gone at the time, so oh well, that's a story for another time though. Anyway, I feel a lot more spiritual and love energy since your trip, Jeremy. I feel it. Thanks for taking us on a journey together, and maybe I'll like see you out sometime, okay? Bye from Karly

Namaste, amigos! I thought Jeremy was just the cutest thing in that India trip. I don't normally dig on Jews because of that whole circumcision thing and the, uh, lack of size in that area, you know, but I really dig on Jeremy and it doesn't really matter to me if he wears a wig or has hair plugs, he's kinda cute and funny in a dorky way. I have always loved dorky guys. I hope Jeremy goes on to be a big star and marries Suzanne Somers. He deserves it.
