Britney Spears: Go Baby Driver

Britneyspearsdrivingbaby1

There are pictures going around of Britney driving with her baby on her lap. Here’s her side of the story, from People:

A source close to Spears explains that the singer drove to Starbucks with her bodyguard in the passenger seat and son Sean in his car seat in the back. When the bodyguard went into the store to get the drinks, Spears took Sean out of his car seat and held him in her lap while she waited. Photographers approached the car, says the source, and became aggressive. Once her bodyguard climbed back into the car, Spears drove away while still holding her son.

Sometimes I think that photographers don't always have their subjects' best interests in mind. But then again, if that baby didn't want to be photographed, he shouldn't have allowed himself to be born. (Picture from Egotastic.)

Is that all stars fucking DO? Go to Starbucks every goddamn minute?

Besides, what's the big deal? Didn't everyone figure out yet that Britney is a backwoods hick? Baby ALWAYS drives up front with MAMA....

jeez.

All of you are dumbasses and this article is so assinine. fact of the matter is the baby didn't get hurt, and I don't blame her for driving off so quickly without putting sean back in his seat. the damn paparazzi was probably going too far and buggin' the hell out her kid. everyone needs to get the fxck out of her business and realize that she's not the only mother you fxcks up, and like we're anyone to tell her she is. all of you need to shut the fxck up. there's no need to call her a hick, a bad mther or any sit like that, leave her alone. it makes you look like less of a person trying to dog down on someone, anyone. just let it go and live a positive life for once in your goddamnn life.

I'd like to point out that the article takes Britney's side, as do I.

If you defend Britney, I hope you don't become parents.

There is NO excuse for Britney's behavior. I have no children of my own and even *I* know that children belong in car seats, not in the front seat on mommy's lap. No excuse whatsoever.

Sure, this time nothing happened to the baby, but things might not work out that way the next time Britney is stupid enough to do this. Even a minor fender bender could turn deadly if the airbags open up.

Not having any children (or knowing what it's like to be attacked by photographers), it would be hard for you to judge a parent's actions. It's easy to say there's no excuse for her behavior, but most parents know that sometimes you end up cutting some corners. She made a mistake, but let's not be too harsh.

Wow...that's incredibly dumb and dangerous.

Bet if any one of us were to do the same thing and get photographed while doing it, we'd be investigated for child endangerment. It's sickening.

I have 3 kids and there are things you don't 'cut corners' on. Yes, we all mess up, we are human. If she was driving trying to get away from these guys, was she driving fast, maybe not thinking too clearly. I'm sure she was mad, her heart beating fast. Not the best time to have your baby in your lap. One time is all it takes. One fender bender to an adult could mean death or serious injury to a child. Is it really worth the obvious risk?

I work in an trauma center/emergency room. I have seen what a child looks like after being thrown through a windshield, or crushed against a steering wheel after an accident when a parent has had a child riding in thier lap. So I have no sympathy for Britney. She is ignorant and if you cannot take responsibility in protecting your child the proper way when it comes to a vehicle, then you should not be allowed to have children. Funny how you have to have a license to drive, but not one to have a child.

Again, I agree that she made a mistake. But I think that if any parent had a camera on them as much as Britney, they would eventually be caught doing something that endangers their child. All I'm saying is don't condemn her based on these pictures.

Sadly, I'd still take her parenting skills over that of K-Fed the Wonder Schlong. Poor Sean Preston is screwed. At least he can take heart in the fact that at his tender age, he's probably smarter than both his parents combined.

Um, excuse me....But anyone who defends Britney because "cameras' follow her is a moron. And she is a moron. She is NOT a victim, and don't feel sorry for her un-educated, unintelligent dumb ass. It's all of you who defend her that make her think it's OKAY to act like a blithering idiot just because she's famous. What does she want, a f-in medal? For putting her child in danger because "the cameras" were following her? What, like she's never seen a "camera" before.... She's not 5, and just discovering her "shadow" now.... She's a freakin moron, and how dare she "blame" the Paparazzi for her stupid carelessness....and how dare ANYBODY defend her. She's a tart, and a complete idiot.

Posted by: Kantoka | Feb 8, 2006 2:21:01 PM

I've seen the photos and her claim of being "terrified" of the paparazzi is BS. She's clearly just cruising along. Deployed airbags have decapitated toddlers seated in the passenger seats of autos. Can you imagine what the steering wheel would do to that child? Stupid shit. Child Protective Services should throw the book at her ass. Bet they don't.

Okay, seriously.... they were CAMERAS that were posed on Britney... they weren't like Czech rebels with a shoulder mounted missle launcher pointed at her. If she was acting out of concern for the safety of her child, she would have secured him in his car seat before leaving. Or, at minumum let the body guard take the baby and put him in his car seat while she was leaving the scene.

I'm not defending britney, i'm telling people to leave her the hell alone. obviously it wasn't smart what she did but there is so many other things to focus on. go to an actualy child services place and see the shit that happens to children. having your baby on your lap while your driving for a couple of minutes is the dumbest thing to freak out about to this extremity. there is now a stigma against britney so that anything she does is over specualated and criticised. it's pathetic. i have children myself, and if i felt like people had a potential to harm my child i would take the risk of getting him the hell out of there. britney's human, and she's just the same as us. so just remember that everytime you say how "uneducated" she is and "how bad of a mother" she is, your basically saying it about yourself, because i promise you she is not a dumb and ignorant as you think. and she's not as different as we hope her to be. this is her first time raising a child and people should stop talking about shit they really have no evidence to prove. it's seriously pathetic. come on, grow up, stop talking shit like junior high student and leave her and her family alone.

Posted by: Courtnee | Feb 9, 2006 12:40:00 PM

She is a complete idiot who does not deserve to have children if she cannot care for them properly! Yes, cameras follow her 24/7, but she should put her sons safety first! What would she have done if someone even barely tapped her car and the airbags went off? Her son would be DEAD..... what would she do then? Blame photographers??? The sad thing is just because she's famous, she will get off with no fine, penalty or anything. Us "NORMAL" people would probably have our children taken from us!

Shes been a celebrety a while, hasn't she? Anybody w/ 2 brain cells to rub together to make a complete thought would have been able to figure out that there would be people w/ cameras at Starbucks looking to take pictures. This isnt a new thing, shes aware of it...the little twit should have planned for it and had her child's best interest, and not her desire for privacy, as top priority. She needs to stop playing house with her poser, free loading husband, and adopt the child to a couple of ADULTS that are smart enough to work a car seat. I'd like to smack some sense into the bimbo, but I might catch a terminal case of stupid if I ever got close enough to her todo so...

In the Middle East, the Westerners call the unrestrained children in the front seat "Saudi air bags". Sean Preston (as if the poor little guy didn't have enough problems) is a "Britney air bag". Gross.

I think that the people that have made the comment of we shouldn't be so "harsh" or "mean" to britney for what she did are the dumbest people I have ever met in my life. You sure wouldn't be saying that if she got in an accident and that poor baby was killed from this. You are only saying that because nothing happened to the baby. I think she should have been arrested for what she did. I know if you are caught around here driving with your baby in your lap that you are definitely going to jail. I don't get how they manage to get away with the things they do, and we all wonder why they do the stupid things they do.
